Post Makeover: Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce

So we’re one month into these weekly post makeovers and today’s post was thiiiiiiiiiis (you can see me pinching my fingers through your monitor, right?) close to not happening. All because of my own silly fault, of course.

I knew last Friday that the following working week was going to be a tough one and planned my work out accordingly, like a good little self-employed person. I worked hard all Monday then on Tuesday, My Official Treat Taster said that RoboCop was on at the cinema at 5pm and he wanted to see it. So I somehow ended up taking the whole day off to make cinema snacks and catch the bus so I could get there on time.

On Monday, I’d set myself a super-tight Friday deadline that I could just about make if I went at my work full-throttle for the whole week. Totally forgot about this on Tuesday when I was skipping work for the cinema of course, which left me working 15 hour days on Wednesday and Thursday in order to make it up.

Now it’s Friday afternoon and I’m frantically banging this post out before a client emails me back with more work so I can share one of my most favourite recipes with you on Pink Recipe Box that I’ve made even better.

I decided this Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce post needed to be made over when I had some trouble with the instructions. I followed my recipe and ended up with something that looked like hot fudge sauce but tasted like caramel and was full of sugar that hadn’t melted down properly. Hey – I’m not fussy, I still ate it. But that’s not really good enough for you, is it?

So I played around a bit with the recipe and I’m totally happy with the new version – no chocolate-coloured caramel or crystallised sugar for you! I also got rid of those terrible, TERRIBLE photos and replaced them with pretty new ones which are so much better.

So if you’re planning on having ice cream over the weekend (or homemade frozen yoghurt like I’ve got in the photo), whip up a batch of this Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce and take your already delicious dessert to a whole new awesome level.

Here are the link parties I link up to. Come and party with me!
